Remedial Soft Tissue Massage is an incredibly beneficial therapy which can help not only reduce your risk of injury and postural fatigue ("my neck just went!" ) but also greatly enhance the performance and strength of your muscles. The title 'Sports Massage' can be misleading as this type of massage benefits not only those partaking in a sport but also the average person who suffers from muscle tension such as tight and sore lower back, hips, neck and shoulders. It is Soft Tissue Therapy, combining massage with specific stretching techniques (MET, STR) to alleviate pain and dysfunction in the muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia.
In short, massage increases circulation, breaks down restrictive waste products such as scar tissue which restrict muscle function (ever felt those stubborn knots in your shoulders?), flushes out toxins and so enables the body to heal itself. It gets things moving again.
It is often referred to as 'Sport' Massage because the sports therapists (physiotherapists, coaches, osteopaths, chiropractors) & athletes know how beneficial and essential it is in their training regime for their performance: strength, recovery time, reduction of injury and overall well-being. I believe that it should be accessible to all so I keep my prices affordable and always have offers running.

What to Expect:
Remedial Massage is not Holistic Massage. It has a purpose of alleviating muscular dysfunction so can sometimes be uncomfortable during specific techniques and some individuals may experience slight soreness and light, localized bruising. This is part of the healing process and will pass. I will always listen to you throughout your treatment and make sure you are happy with the treatment being received.
