About Kerrie Chinn &
B Balanced Classes
Clinical Pilates Classes
Specifically for those suffering from postural problems and back pain, but open to all.
My classes concentrate on alignment, deep abdominal connection and strength. They focus on improving your body awareness and balance. The physio-based exercises target problem areas to help realign and balance your posture, helping to relieve common back, neck, shoulder and knee problems. Pilates is an holistic technique, focusing on the whole body as well as those problem areas.
All classes are mixed level ability. Individual attention is given to make sure you progress at your own pace. Classes are small (around 10 participants) to provide a focused but relaxed environment.
Ladies Only Rehab:
I run a Pilates class in partnership with Butterflies Support Group specifically for ladies recovering from breast cancer, MS and Fibromyalgia. This class is concessionary and very gentle. It focuses on mobility after treatment, gentle introduction back into exercise and a safe, friendly, supportive environment for those who have lost confidence.
Sessions are available and advisable for those with long-term problems. The first is £28 to those who already attend my classes.
Ante & Post Natal courses are available on request.
Postural Stability Classes:
These concessionary classes are for those less able and the over 50s. Classes focus on functional exercises, balance, mobility, posture and fall prevention. They are gentle, mostly seated classes which provide a fun, safe, friendly environment for those less confident.
I also run a Stroke Exercise & Social class specially catering for those living with neural conditions such as Stroke, Parkinson's Disease and brain injury. The class aims to teach participants vital daily mobility and motor skill exercises to combat loss of independence and confidence, falls and postural changes. Carers and partners are welcome and indeed essential if mobility or cognitive function needs outside support.
"I've been going to Kerrie for 8 yrs and since then, I don't need my monthly visits to the Osteopath. If I miss a couple of classes I really feel the difference. Kerrie gave me some exercises to do at home and now I know what I need to do for myself, I feel so much more in control of my back problems.. No more pain. Highly recommend her!" John, Worthing.
"Kerrie seems to know what I need and is always there to give advice and put you in the right positions. I suffer from disc degeneration but never feel I can't join in as she gives me safe alternatives that don't put pressure on my back. " Pat, Worthing
" My dodgy knees and me feel welcome and safe! Thanks for the balance and advice, Kerrie. " Marion, Worthing
" Kerrie's class is my weekly relaxation and stretch. I feel worked, though! She keeps it interesting and we do loads of challenging stuff. Like the rollers. I always feel longer after class." Ann, Storrington.
" I have been coming to Kerrie's classes on and off for the last 7 yrs. If I give up for a while, I always end up coming back. My body misses her class and have not found one quite the same" Janet, Findon
" It is so nice to have a class where you are all in the same boat. This class has helped me get back on my feet and it's a lot like my physio from the hospital. It doesn't make me too tired either. The ladies and Kerrie are all so welcoming. Thanks again!" Tina, Goring. Butterflies BC Class
" I suffer from Arthritis and struggled to find a class that I felt comfortable in. There were so many exercises I couldn't do. In Kerrie's class she has shown me adaptations and alternatives so I never feel left out in class and now I am confident. She showed me just how much I actually can do, rather than what I can't" Jenny, Tarring.
" Having broken my back twice and living with a load of health issues, I did a few 121 sessions with Kerrie before joining her class. Since then, I have been going every week and can now balance on tip-toe and do a whole hour class. It's keeping an old man going and I've learnt to make changes in my daily life to help me too! " Malcolm, Tarring
Fall Prevention / Over 60s Keep Fit:
" I have felt more confident out and about. Kerrie has helped me with my balance." Margaret, Steyning
"Its great to have a class in our lounge. It makes us come! I feel like I've worked every muscle in my body by the end. Fun too. Kerrie is a nice lady, she always looks after you." Doug, Tarring
"My husband really didn't want to do his stroke rehabilitation exercises at home, but now we come to Kerrie and he loves it. We have such a laugh at class and Jim is improving. He feels like he can do things there and really tries. Lovely." Carol, Goring.
" We always do different things so I am never bored. Its nice to come and have a go. Kerrie makes us laugh and I do feel better after. " Pearl, Worthing.
"I was having quite regular falls before I started coming, but now I have noticed the difference. Kerrie has taught me a lot about how to be safer. Its nice to see friends there too! " Lilly, Storrington
